Keith D. Hornbacher, MBA, Senior Associate, Hulett & Associates, LLC, is an Affiliated Faculty member of the University of Pennsylvania where he leads graduate seminars in quantitative project risk analysis methods, tools and management.  In addition he is the principal consultant of Hornbacher Associates, founded in 1993.  Mr. Hornbacher’s professional purpose is to help organizations resolve project uncertainty and risk.  His three decades of experience include positions of vice president and managing consultant in the Los Angeles firm that pioneered Monte Carlo simulation and treatment of project risks.  Examples of North American programs/projects where he deployed integrated cost-schedule risk analysis include aerospace / defense advanced tactical fighters; the Canadian offshore oil platform Hibernia; and several US large diameter cross-country pipelines.  His work as a sub-consultant to Hulett & Associates, LLC, features many large projects including independent reviews of diverse Canadian projects from oil sands mining to bridge re-decking logistics.  As a Hulett associate he has been a schedule/risk analyst for the US Government Accountability Office (GAO) and NASA.  Mr. Hornbacher has augmented and deployed the “risk factors” method described by Dr. David T. Hulett in his books and professional papers. Mr. Hornbacher’s experience from his ongoing global practice is often shared with professional service organizations and educational institutions.
